A new kitchen in a penthouse apartment. The owners of this home included a keen cook looking for plenty of kitchen storage. The concept of country meets contemporary was illustrated in the use of a timber benchtop versus stainless steel and terracotta floor tiles versus clean details in the joinery. The joinery was stained dark ash to expose the strong grain running through it. I increased storage with discreet hardware that made use of all available space, including the extract fan hidden behind a bespoke piece of metalwork. The result was a happy cook and plenty of dinner parties.
